Yvan Jane – Glen Rose et Chad Eubank- Granbury – Texas
« 8 secondes et des poussières », ces quelques mots ont bercé la vie d’Yvan Jane et Chad Eubank pendant longtemps. Ces plus grands personnages du Rodéo Américain sont avant tout des passionnés de cheval. Leur relation à l’animal est presque mystique.
Yvan Jane a passé une longue partie de sa vie à leur côté et garde toujours des chevaux chez lui. Son compagnon de toujours sur les circuits de rodéo a même fini sa vie à ses côtés.
Chad a trouvé dans le cheval sa reconversion. Chuchoteur reconnu dans tout les USA, il noue des liens indéfectibles avec des centaines de chevaux passés par ses enclos.
Patience, humilité, travail, équilibre, écoute, abnégation : on retrouve tout ce qui construit la relation au cheval.
Pour lui, le cheval est le miroir de ce que nous sommes. Il renvoie à son cavalier ses propres lacunes. Il aime citer Ray Hunt : « le cheval sait…il sait si tu sais…il sait aussi si tu ne sais pas. »
Ces quelques mots de Chad résument bien notre rencontre:
« What an awesome experience I had over the weekend. The connections you make on the road of life are pretty valuable. A friend from France sent a gentleman to me to help with his book. The connection between horse and man. Bruno came to America from France for just a few days. In hoping to capture on film the bond that a horse might have with me. He has already been all over the world to have these experiences with others. I feel very fortunate to have been chosen to represent this bond in the West. The sights and sound he watched over my shoulder and some times at my side , were nothing but magical to him. He saw me put the first two rides on a couple horses, rope and saddle a couple for their first time and watch them hook up to me and become bonded as they were not before the sessions had started. I let him experience riding one of my personal horses bridless as that was his dream from a young boy to do when he watched his grandfather with horses back in France. Although at times he did not understand how I could bond with the animals so easily and quick like, we both found a few things in common about each other. People may live worlds apart, but we both have the same goal in life. To be kind to animals , have a peaceful heart, and appreciate the Earth we live on. Nous avons partagé les derniers jours à à soigner des chevaux dans les écuries, tout en vivant une expérience inoubliable.
un matin, Chad préparait un magnifique cheval noir. Il est en total symbiose avec lui. Pas de selle, pas de rênes, juste ses jambes et sa voie.
Il était assez tôt le matin, j’étais en train de brosser ce sublime cheval, Chad vient discuter avec moi. il m’explique qu’il prépare le cheval pour un ami. Que c’est important et qu’il faut être très méticuleux.
Une heure plus tard, il m’explique que le cheval est prêt. Son ami ne devrait plus tarder.
Il m’explique alors que son ami vient de France. je ne réalise pas tout de suite.
Fatigué, trop naïf ou un anglais trop approximatif, je me dis que je vais rencontrer une autre personne…de France.
Il m’explique alors que c’est moi. Pendant 48 secondes j’ai eu l’impression d’être un cow-boy.
après ces instants de communion parfaite avec Michael au Japon, j’étais à nouveau sur un nuage Texan. je n’oublierai jamais ce cheval et encore moins Chad. Ce cheval était à son image, simple, fort, confiant, fiable et avec une humanité incroyable.
